Make Your Own Wedding Guest Dress in 3 hours

I can’t believe how much love this dress got and so I wanted to share a tutorial on how to make your own! It’s beginner friendly (minus the double-lining part but you can skip that). I go over the steps in my video but these are the basic steps:

1. Have minimum 1 yard of stretch fabric (I’m very petite so this was enough for one maxi dress, depending on your size and height, 2 yards is safer)

2. If you have a favorite fitted dress, use that to outline. If not, measure your body and draw a long hourglass shape. Start bigger so you can tailor it in!

3. Have 2 panels (front side and back side)

4. Sew the sides of the front side and back side together with a zigzag stitch

5. Try it on (inside out)! Mark it where you want to take it in and then sew again.
